Polybook - Kaj Suominen

Been too busy with actual intern work, which I can't show just yet. Haven't forgotten this project though, and now had time to do some work on it. redid the canopy since the previous version just wasn't good enough and I've come bit more in ways of using hardops and booleans.

something i've been working on/off. though now testing mainly screw modifier on the scope and lots of booleans.

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

few more pieces left. then its polish time. and low poly for bakes.

  • smurfmier1985 replied

louhikarme I love the design Kaj 😊 looking forward to the end result!

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

ssmurfmier1985 Thanks, sadly i wish i could say its my own. but its from real gun xm2010 if you google that. end result will be game asset. :)

  • smurfmier1985 replied

louhikarme then you picked a great gun to transform into a game asset and I applaud your choice 😊👏🏻

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

starting to be ready to commit on some booleans to clean up everything. also need few more bigger grip parts. luckily those are same all over the places.. also scope missing few pieces here and there. should be interesting low poly and unwrap. :)

louhikarme That sniper is looking really awesome Kaj, keep up the good work!

P.S. It looks like the normals on the scope are flipped

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

@jlampel Thanks Jonathan. and yeah you weren't only one who pointed that scope. using screw modifier there and the had the normals flipped. guess you go blind when modeling piece by piece and then would need fresh eyes to spot obvious. :)

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

Allmost time to start committing some of the booleans and starting to add non symmetricaldetails.

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

few details left. there is lot of small bolts and screws to be added yet. and the stock needs some loving aswell. but definetly looking lot more finished now.

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

today's sculpt practice. been awhile and i see i have a long road ahead. definetly its not a girl i had reference face. looks man.

    Day2

will see after 30 of these if there is some improvement. :)

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

did another focues more on proportions.

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

so, made decision. 1hour sculpt everyday. can be anything, but mainly focusin on human anatomy and heads. will see in 6months how they start looking.

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

also tipping my toes into sketchin with grease pencil, then converting them bezier curve and suggesting details. these are not mean to be nothing more than drawings on the napkins. :)

  • smurfmier1985 replied

louhikarme You’re trying new things, cool! Keep going 🤘🏻😎

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

ssmurfmier1985 one have to push to improve. :) doing nothing but hard surface game stuff for past 3 years, been wanting to get back into characters and more sketching. so now was good time to start.

  • odunov replied
