thecabbagedetective well... You are really good in creating scenes with mood. Lights and shading are really cool!

I see some fire out of thruster. Did you used fire simulation?

thecabbagedetective Aaron reading that you feel a bit disappointed, forget it please :-)

You know not always need to be maximalist, the nature of the life also is about sometimes pushing, while sometimes letting it go and having both ones in good rythm. Your quality is still amazing, beside of that you not only modelled things this month but also the most actively participated on the forum (again because I think in the June class it was the same :D, you are great)

thecabbagedetective OMG i am so jelous on you. you are sooo amazing. its like they are spin dancing :D wonderfull .
really youre a great 3D artist. be sure to take some rest in time of course . again you did trully wonderfull during the class. you and ssmurfmier1985  are both inspiring me so much and also teached me a lot (of course several others along with  @theluthier ) but you 2 really where a amazing inspiration for me to do even better .

yyukinoh1989 Wow thanks Yukino, you're making me blush.. 😊

thecabbagedetective Way to go BIG!! What I love about your projects is you go so hard at them. Your plans are ambitions, which a lot of people have, but your efforts are just as big - most people don't have that.

The handful of narrative lines...I so appreciate them. It gives purpose to your images and makes us stare at them that much longer. And of course your quality is undisputed. You do great work, Aaron. You've inspired me to go big or go home and I can only assume by the level of commendation in this thread that you've inspired everyone else in this class to do the same.

Keep going big like this - while being mindful not to burn out - and you're going to do big things; go big places. It's an A++ from me my dude.

Whew lad I got a lot to respond to here...

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

ssmurfmier1985 Ah, you're too kind, thanks! I think we all felt that sting this week especially, but we all managed to push through in the end. Long live our Blender careers!

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

mmahir07 Awesome man, glad to hear you like it, thanks!

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

nekronavt Why thank you! Lighting is something I'm actively striving to improve almost as much as modeling itself. Such a nebulous concept but so integral...

And to answer your question, yes. That alone was one of the major reasons I wanted to use 2.79 as the smoke/fire sim in 2.8 seems broken (at least it was last time I checked). still not the most well versed in it but I feel it adds a nice bit to this scene!

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

csehz Haha cheers, you have a point. I just feel so stupidly ambitious and feel annoyed when I don't reach that, when half the stuff I don't even know how I'd begin and I have a week to do it. Realistic goals are important. Also apologies for kinda going AWOL in week 3, didn't really help out much there but I hope I made up for it!

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

yyukinoh1989 Well shucks, it's nice to know I've managed to help my fellow artists along the way. We're all in this together, so glad to hear and see you've come a long way in such a short time!

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

@theluthier Well dang, that's a high amount of praise, thank you very much! I'm quite humbled.

I always like giving my scenes some purpose outside of "Here's this cool thing I made," (which is fine, of course, I do it as well), 'cause as you said, the added context gives meaning to everything. I especially love doing it (theoretically anyways) in complex scenes where you can stare at it for ages and still find new details. Maybe that's what I should be aiming for? Could be fun.

It's quite surprising and heartwarming that I've managed to help and/or inspire a few of you - either directly or indirectly - in CG. That alone makes any stress worth it.

I really appreciate the last comment, because as I've said in the past CG is all I really got, so it's very reassuring to know I'm on the right path. Thank you again!

Late to the party You have great work.  The turntable kind of bugs me though; the pivot isn't at the same point for the whole rotation; I expect it to be under the lady bot for some reason.

I hear you on wanting to go all out and get your vision but sometimes things get in the way.  I was incredibly frustrated this weekend because there was a family event and friends came into town so my weekend was shot.  I knew I could've gotten way farther ahead if I didn't have that happen, but oh well.  Even though the class is over, no one's stopping you from continuing these projects.
