Awesome done, guess youre right, doing these courses before we start might be a good idea :)

    Love youre works btw :D

  • Keith (beefkeef) replied

    Thanks Yukino, I appreciate that!

I haven't done much low-poly work at all, and very little texture work so I really need to get some practice in ASAP!

  • Keith (beefkeef) replied

That was a great course, I really enjoyed it! I might come back and add some coins later.

I'm feeling ready to make a couple of barrels of my own now and see how they come out.

I thought I might have a go at sculpting one of Melvin's friends. I'm not sure what his name is, so for now I'll call him Delvin. I've got a feeling he might live high up in the mountains and is also fond of the taste of sheep.

Not quite sure how to approach his fur just yet, I might try and sculpt it and see how that looks.

    Haha , great start Keith!

Oh wow, I haven't posted in here for a good while, shame on me !  😅

I've been working on a spooky witch when I can, here's a few in progress shots. I was hoping to finish this one before Halloween, not sure that's gonna happen but I'll just see how it goes  👍

I've just done a very rough block out  and then a quick sculpting pass on the pretty face so far.

Here's a few more progress shots of the Witch, I think she's coming along now.

I used the skin modifier some more to block out the hands and added a very simple hat.

Also I added the high heels and  did a quick sculpt on the hands, I always find fingers a bit tricky so it did take a few attempts to get them where they are now - will come back for another pass or two on these later!

I've also blocked in the sleeves of her dress using a plane with a solidify modifier. I'm thinking that the collar of the dress can be done this way too. I'm not quite sure how it will work out when I join them to the body, will just have to try it!

Looks great! Did you draw the concept art as well?

  • Ingrid Frank(Fide) replied

    Awesome!

  • Keith (beefkeef) replied

Thanks jammingammon ! No I'm terrible at drawing, this is artwork from one of my favourite artists Kevin Keele https://www.artstation.com/kkeeleart

  • Keith (beefkeef) replied

    Thanks @fide 👍👍

  • jammingammon replied

Well you're certainly good at adapting them to 3D.  Your gallery is looking pretty sweet.

    Great work beefkeef ,

    Beautiful...

I mean the sculpting, not the witch.

  • Keith (beefkeef) replied

jammingammon Thanks so much I appreciate that! 👍😎

@adrian2301 thanks for the comment! she definitely fell out of the ugly tree didn't she? 😅 but then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder....

  • Keith (beefkeef) replied

I've gone a bit further with this beautiful lady 😅

I did another pass on the face and made the brave decision to break symmetry now - that always makes me nervous! I added the ears and tried to capture the eyes a bit better. As is normally the case going from 2D to 3D, I can't quite get things to match 100% (the far cheek showing for example) - but it's close-ish, I think! I'll do another pass here for sure.

I also spent a bit of time on the hat, noticing that it looks like she sat on the end?  😅

Her dress needs some attention, so I'm working on that at the moment but failing, I'll keep trying though!

beefkeef This graceful young beauty is for sure cooking a delicious soup 😉😁🤣! It's looking great already 😀👍!

  • Keith (beefkeef) replied

Haha thanks duerer she is a young beauty indeed!!  😅

you are more than welcome to taste some of her soup, goodness knows what she's been cooking up !!!! 😛

  • Keith (beefkeef) replied

Only a tiny bit of progress today, I just joined the parts of her dress together and quickly sculpted some shapes. I think I can just go about and add more detail now across the whole model so that will be my next goal.

Also need to think about the smoke coming from the cauldron, can I sculpt that? looks like it could be hard! or is it better to use a smoke simulation perhaps?

Oh, and some hair would help too - will do that after the sculpting is done!

  • Keith (beefkeef) replied

Just a little progress again today!

I decided this would be a good point to remesh some of my model parts and start using the multires modifier to allow me some higher level of detail.

Then I've made another pass and added some creases to her clothing. Also added some smaller details to the hat and the cauldron.

I went over that pretty face again 😛 and just polished it up a bit. and added a couple of warts on her nose - they need hairs later.

I think next I should improve the teeth, add some finger nails and polish the hands some more.

Adding the beauty spot made all the difference,

    And she can cook,

    Wow, what a woman!
