bathroom week 4

Week 1

Toy Truck New look (freshly buyed )

Toy Truck dirty + old

i did have changed like in the wheel and some slight collor diffrence but i lost the first file somehow .

File Of toy truck finished state
toy truck finished

What i learned
-learned how to use HDRI. change intensity , rotate the world.
-learned about the diffrent kind of lamps(point lamp, sun, etc and when to use them best .
-learned about the intensity how to increase size and how this effects the scene. and how to change the collors to the lamps.
-learned how to render with higher result . (more samples) and noticed that filmic and default settings give difrent light effects.
-learned how to add collors and how to connect diffrent nodes with each other(still dont know much about nodes what and when to use or how to organize them but i am still practicing :) )
-Learned how to make someting more plastic or more metalic
-learned how to make brushed metal
-learned how to add scratches dirt and dust (trough i still wonder why some spaces arent covered with dirt (like in the yellow its good visible where there is and not )

So overall this week was so fun . difficult but then again everyting new at first is kinda difficult .
The most important thing is i learned so much and that while having fun with it .

yyukinoh1989 Good work. You even changed the position of the toytruck.

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

Nighttime scene . hope it looks good :)

  • n647 replied

really like what you did with the stars for the night sky, great work manipulating the HDRI, I had no idea how to do that when I did the excercise, the shadows also match quite well

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

    n647
Thank you i am happy you like it :D i also gave the room some moonlight effect not too much but a bit. also changed the position so that its lighting up another part of the room (kinda loved that effect not sure if its perfect but i loved it :) )
also been trying the whole day working with nodes but not with much goods but i somehow got a kinda dirt effect (gonna try to add it also to the blue of the truck if its looking good. )

yyukinoh1989 Nice night scene!  It feels like an echo of your day scene in the reddish-pink lamps, which I like.  Nicely lit.  Good work.

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

silentheart00 thank you so much silentheart. The night scene render had to be pushed to 2500 samples. It made it take 55 +- minutes to render. Somehow there where a lot of dark and noise spots in the scene what somehow was distracting. I am happy it's turning out good. Still am gonna have to finish the toy truck. But it sure is a struggle xd. But at least I somehow start to get a kind of dirt effect

  • silentheart00 replied

yyukinoh1989 Yeah, that's just part of the rendering process.  Upgrading your hardware can help to cut some of that down, but that's money you'll have to spend.  You can also pay to use a renderfarm, which would most definitely get your render done faster, but again, money.  Depends on what you want to do.

The truck grime is looking good so far, forgot that was there lol.

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

silentheart00 indeed sadly for now I cannot afford any upgrades. Already for staying here I slightly had to adjust the way I spend my money. I do hope  later that I can somehow start this as freelancer so that life will be easier again :) but for now I try sometimes to work over so I can at least keep having it comfortable and stay here.

The truck might get overseen more since it's not in the top post. Only post finished results there so that Kent know what is finished

  • silentheart00 replied

yyukinoh1989 Do the best you can with what you have.  You could have the best tools available and still be terrible at whatever you do.  If you find yourself being limited by your tools, then it might be worth looking into an upgrade.  But, that'll be down the road.

Nah, I was looking at your bedroom and didn't scroll down to see the other replies.  My fault.

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

silentheart00 I sure will keep doing my best with what I have :)

  • Zsolt Cseh(csehz) replied

yyukinoh1989 Yukino I like to check your thread regularly, because I know that you ask a lot of and so I am also getting valuable information in questions :-)

Very nice to see how you learn step by step

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

csehz thank you so much I am happy to hear that. Somehow this time I also wandered of to other topics to ask a lot of info. I sure did learned a lot again. And I love that so much since it gives a good feeling :).

  • Christina McKay(chrismckay) replied

ssmurfmier1985 Thanks for the tipps! Your recommendation to the Shader forger will help me very much. The node system and me aren't friends yet :-)

  • Christina McKay(chrismckay) replied

    yukinoh1989

Yukino, wow. I like the truck and your room renderings so much.

You're improving incredibly fast. If I learn things at least half as fast as you do, I'll be happy.

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

chrismckay thank you so much. It really makes me happy to hear that. And I indeed am learning at a really good speed. But that is of course than to @theluthier and the help of you guys the community. I am almost constantly in blender the past 2 months and week and keep learning so I am really happy to see ethe results from it

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

I do have a question. Especially on the blue you see a lot of scratches. Is there a way to increase the offset of each scratch or reduce them? Let me know if I must post a screenshot of the node tree I have so far

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

pfew i think i can call the toy truck done :) .
at first i was thinking of adding stickers or someting else but i guess i am happy with how it looks now . and damn those node tree's they grow really fast when you try to add someting :o
this is the final result i have (trough i wish i knew how to give depth to the producenal scratches but i guess its still visible ).
first you have a somehow plastic material (exept for the iron of the wheels that is indeed brushed metal)
then i added scratches some dirt and dust (trough with the dirt on the yellow somehow it doesnt apprear everywhere :s i wonder what is causing that . if anyone knows pls tell me .
it should look like a toy that is pretty old
i have 2 versions but not sure what is best

this one has dust but set to facing

this one has set the dust to fresnel

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

found out how to get the dust better trough its still not as clear . i also added dust to the floor let me kno< <hat you think is best so far

  • silentheart00 replied

yyukinoh1989 I think your latest truck looks the best on the dust.  Nice touch adding it to the floor.

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

silentheart00 thank you. I also will be sharing my file with a better render and upload the start post
