Darius's Blender progress

I wanted to track my progress so I wrote this. I am a complete beginner right now, I hope things will change. This is the low poly rocket from the course for beginners.

Getting better and better each time!

I made this other naval gun, my intention is to combine all of this and make the battleship Yamato.

  • dariusjohnson replied

The model felt hollow so I modified it a little bit.

  • dariusjohnson replied

I made this type 89 anti-aircraft naval gun.

  • dariusjohnson replied

This is like the cannon enclosed in some kind of protection.

  • dariusjohnson replied

I did the model of the battleship, now I just have to do the material

    Already looking quite cool!

    Great job Darius!

  • dariusjohnson replied

It has been a while, I have been busy but I finally did it.

  • dariusjohnson replied

I made this revolver, what do you think?

  • dariusjohnson replied

This is a grenade used in world war 1.

  • Matthew Fricker(frikkr) replied

Well done , really nice work. Only thing is , should there not be some sort of railing around the deck to stop people falling into the sea?

  • dariusjohnson replied

Yes, there should be but when I finished the model I completely forgot about it

  • dariusjohnson replied

This is the Berdan rifle in use at the end of the 19th century

  • dariusjohnson replied

This is a mortar from world war 1

  • dariusjohnson replied

    Another rifle with a bayonet

  • dariusjohnson replied

This is a lewis machine gun

  • dariusjohnson replied

I know this might be boring but I really like guns, tell me what you think.

  • dariusjohnson replied

This is a maxim machine gun from world war 1

  • Matthew Fricker(frikkr) replied

This looks cool but you have the bullets facing the wrong way and the poor solider that fires this will get a very unexpected surprise when they pull the trigger!

You textured the grey section very well but I would add a lot more variation to the various green parts on the body and the wheels. Also maybe a bit of dirt and grime in the crevices and more battle damage/ wear and tear on the green parts would match the grey section better too. Hope this helps :)

  • dariusjohnson replied

Oh no! You are right, I am so dumb, I didn't even think about the direction of the bullet.

You are also right about the green parts, but I was following a reference that didn't have the battle damage so I blindly copied it. I think I need to be less dependent to the reference at hand.
