ccarrotnl Why thank you! And yes, I am indeed British haha.
thecabbagedetective Wow, I would have bet π°it was an Eevee render! I'm a noob. Heh but yes the updated render does look better. The truck looks grounded. Nice job.
Also I don't think I knew you were British. Thought I would have known that by now lol
@theluthier Ta! I believe I've mentioned it a couple times on stream but I suppose it's quite easy to miss it with all the pose requests and such hahaha.
Damn, never thought sculpting a pumpkin would be stressful. Fair play, fruit.
silentheart00 Oh man I don't think I can eat anymore, but I very much appreciate the thought, thank you!
@theluthier Ayy, ta very much! Same time next year? Can't see myself abandoning this site now, not after what I've done and the people I've interacted with.
I wonder what this could be...?
This isn't really a part of my homework (though I might throw it in) but didn't wanna make a new thread because I'll probably be providing very few updates on this and it didn't feel worth it. So, critique away everything (except you @theluthier, lighting only for you!)! I should say I'm going for a slightly stylized vibe but the shaders are only temporary and they haven't been retopologised yet. I'd say the nearest one is a bit uneven and lumpy but for my render this might actually work in my favour. Either way, any and all feedback and advice is welcome, cheers!
thecabbagedetective I'm not a pumpkin expert, but I think they look really nice π¬ I like the different shapes, gives it some variation and no pumpkin is perfect, right?? They got that stylized vibe your going for, so your on the right path. Keep up the good work! πππ»
ssmurfmier1985 Why thank you! I definitely intend to add more detail though, with pumpkins like yyukinoh1989's blowing mine out of the water. Just need to git gud with sculpting in general, so hopefully at the end of this at the very least my sculpting improves!
thecabbagedetective Don't be afraid to cut things deep, either, not just for the pumpkin but for sculpting anything. Carving forms out are just as powerful as building forms up.
For the pumpkins, could use more surface texture, like these pumpkins. It's too smooth over the flat surfaces. Otherwise, it's a good start.
thecabbagedetective If you find it difficult to sculpt the details, you could also opt to use a displacement modifier for extra bigger details and additionally also noise texture as bump for smaller details . that's what I did for my pumpkin, haven't sculpted anything did it with mesh modeling and the steps I just mentioned
