BC1-1808 Homework, Pavel Mazanik

Collaborations

My homework thread for the  August 2018 Class

So here we are.

For "Model with primitives" I have two submissions. First is the one I made while watching "Blender Mesh Modeling Bootcamp" in 2.79. Here it is

And the second one I made in attempt to get in touch with 2.8. You know this phun about how ships in bottles are made? Parts and glue are thrown into and bottle and shaken. Sometimes result is trash, sometimes a ship. I hope this one is closer to ship :D

    Thank you all :)

Thank you. You should not feel slow, that's all not about speed which comes with practice.

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

nekronavt that is true . practice makes you better and faster.  really love youre work so far :)

  • Kent Trammell replied

nekronavt Your head sculpt is off to a brilliant start! Is it a self portrait?

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

@theluthier thank you. Yes, it's a self portrait. Or at least wannabe :D

Here is the current WIP of the sculpt.

  • smurfmier1985 replied

nekronavt Looks like you shaved your eyebrows 😛without kidding this sculpt definitialy looks like you! very nice 😁 nice details inside the ear! that must be difficult.

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

    ssmurfmier1985 yeah, I just didn't make eyebrows yet :D thank you :)

  • Jake Korosi(jakeblended) replied

Yep that's definitely recognizable - it's coming along great so far!

Kudos to you and Wilco sculpting your own faces - I'd be far too tempted to give myself muscle tone that I don't actually have. :)

  • silentheart00 replied

    Nice work!

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

    silentheart00 thank you :)

jakeblended  you are saying like it's something bad :D thank you.

So, I ended up with this for today (it's 3 a.m. in Minsk). Probably I'll add a bust stand and do some polish after a good sleep, but mostly it's final, I think.

  • silentheart00 replied

nekronavt You have some weird artifacting happening, but it looks like a person!  Good job.

  • Ken Claassen(cptken) replied

    nekronavt looking very nice

  • Jake Korosi(jakeblended) replied

Yeah I agree with silentheart - it looks like you have a few stray flipped normals scattered around in there, though I couldn't imagine how that happened.  Easy enough to fix I should think.

The likeness is spot on.  You did a fantastic job!

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

    cptken thank you :)

If by artifacts you mean that white spots, it was a part of material. Not very lucky part, if it's seems like a glitch xD. Thank you for feedback :)

    Aaaand...

    Week #3 Homework Submission

I believe I can't do any better with my current skills, but that was a challenge, huh.  Probaly this is a new level for me. I think I made myself a new profile pic :D.

Firstly I wanted to try some texture painting and hair particles, but Kent was right, it's a ton of work. Anyway, I'm happy with this bust style.  This time I used Cycles as render engine.

  • smurfmier1985 replied

nekronavt Amazing job! Totally cool as a profile pic 😉 The likeness is very good, you're great at sculpting, well done 😬

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

    ssmurfmier1985 thank you :)

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

I think it would be a crime not to make a turntable of it :D (EEVEE)
