BC1-1808 Homework, Pavel Mazanik

Collaborations

My homework thread for the  August 2018 Class

So here we are.

For "Model with primitives" I have two submissions. First is the one I made while watching "Blender Mesh Modeling Bootcamp" in 2.79. Here it is

And the second one I made in attempt to get in touch with 2.8. You know this phun about how ships in bottles are made? Parts and glue are thrown into and bottle and shaken. Sometimes result is trash, sometimes a ship. I hope this one is closer to ship :D

@theluthier Thank you. Primitive modeling is really a pain for me, it's like playing guitar with bricks tied to hands :D Can't wait for mesh modeling and sculpting streams :)

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

I'm on process. Modelling with modifiers without ability to see them in edit mode is so frustrating. Especially subdivision surface. No pain, no gain! And I miss LoopTools, hope to see them in 2.8 as soon as possible.

  • smurfmier1985 replied

nekronavt I feel your pain, it is quite annoying without seeing it.. you model looks good!! You got a pirate theme going on this class, ay matey I like it! 😬

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

ssmurfmier1985 Thanks! I'm working on pirate themed VR game with my cousin in spare time :D. But this one will not be a regular skull. I'm plannig to do some cyberpunk stuff here. Some wires and screws perhaps. Cyberskull :)

I'd rather do a sculpt first and then retopology, but for this time it will be pure mesh modeling. It will never be superfluous to practice skull modeling :D

  • smurfmier1985 replied

nekronavt Oh cool, I like that twist! Never saw that one coming. Still looks good without the sculpting I think. I'll be keeping an eye on how this evolves 😎

  • silentheart00 replied

Looks good as far as I can tell.  Good for you for using this class as motivation for other projects lol.  I think others are doing the same thing as well.

  • n647 replied

Nice,  Iwant to see what you do with the cyberpunk on the skull, maybe something like a 40K servitor?

  • Julian B(bsdwerbeagentur) replied

nekronavt Very good so far! A cyberskull, as you call it, is a really cool idea! 😃

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

    silentheart00 thanks :)

n647 thanks, I'm quite improvising here, so I'm not sure, how it will appear :)

bbsdwerbeagentur  thanks :) Yeah, I'think I could find a creative use of modifiers here

Thank you all and спасибо (;D), folks!

And I think I can call it my

    Week #2 Homework Submission

I wanted to do some substance painter stuff, but I decided to use just some procedurals and principled shaders. And It's my first render with EEVEE :)

  • smurfmier1985 replied

nekronavt Wow how did you make the skull look so good with eevee??! It's awesome! 😬

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

    ssmurfmier1985 thanks :)

Like this. And enabling SSS in EEVEE settings

UPDATE: I attached .blend to header post.

  • smurfmier1985 replied

nekronavt Thanks for showing that! So all the texture is made with shaders? Didn't know you could do that. I'll download your blendfile to poke around a bit 😬
