new update. just need to do the paws and some accesorie and she is finished
is there a way to maintaine the texture while resculpting the paws ? i notice when i try to resculp i mess up the texture

  • galledark (galledark) replied

yyukinoh1989 Your evee looks so great !
my first sculpture was a complete mess compare to yours x)
I cant realy help with the texture cause i'm using procedural textures for my sculpts most of the time.

Can i ask you how you made the texture for the eyes? its very pretty :)
And one little tip for you: Evee has white fur on the end of his tail.
You can see if it's a male or a female according to this white fur: here are some images to illustrate what i mean ^^

    This is a Evee male

This is a Evee femalesee the difference? ;)
Good luck to you yukino ! you're very good at sculpting and modeling in general ! :)

galledark hey sure . i used spheres for the eyes. flathen them and then took smart unwrap. then i used texturen paint. starting with dark Brown. then added the white circle.  and painted the blue part the moon like shape. sadly i again forget to save the image texture. so i am redoing it. i also know now that once you save that you can edit it in another drawing program. after class ill record how i do the eyes and can show it then? i am used to draw a lot so texture paint is perfect for me. also thanx tot the tip between male and female didnt knew that. she is female so guess ill have to edit the tail but i still gonna do it sligtly different :) .

i am really glad you like it :D

    edit
updated the tail and redo the eyes since i lose the texture once more xD

trying the paws but have some problems does anyone have tips or is this looking good? i am not so good with paws yet so i wonder how the shape should be . let me know if i can improve this or what could be better etc. eevee only has 3 paws :p

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

yyukinoh1989 I'd say this looks good. The only thing I can think of that could possibly improve it would be to "trim" the parts on the side, because it makes it feel that the edges of the paws are sticking out which makes it look as if the Eevee is "opening" its paw, if that makes sense? If that's what you're going for though then by all means go for it.

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

thecabbagedetective thanx. that might indeed be the cause . gonna try tomorrow to zee of things would be better then. since it should be a neutral pose. thanx for the advice :)

yyukinoh1989 Unfortunately you can't change the resolution dynamically and keep what you've painted. You can change the resolution in the N-panel of the UV/Image Editor but it will erase any painted data.

Alternatively you can save your texture as an image file, open that file in Photoshop or Gimp or Krita, enlarge it, save it, reload that file back in Blender. But enlarging it will be blurry.

Typically I will paint a texture at 4096 x 4096 pixels to achieve details. I can always shrink it later no problem.
