Fracture is a new physics modifier for Blender that's been in development for some time. It hopes to become an official feature some time in the 2.8 series, but for now it remains experimental. Even in its early stages it has been used for VFX work in film and television. In this livestream we'll cover some of the many features of the modifier and why it's so much more useful than the Cell Fracture addon.
The modifier requires its own special build of Blender, which you can grab here: https://blender.community/c/graphicall/
Re: uploading - I don't think so, but I'd have to ask. Does it look different?
Never heard that before
🤔
Yeah, try the Data Transfer modifier! It's not always 100% so there might be some touch up needed, but it'll get you most of the way there. It basically maps the UV's of one object to another
Another question, does the CG Cookie site reduce the jpg quality and size when you upload an artwork to your profile?
Can I maybe pin the UV's in place and retain the contour and fill the model with less poly's? I don't know if that's clear
I mean I'd like to retopo the model, but I don't want to loose the UV because I'm not going to hand paint the textures again
So how can I reduce the poly count without loose the uv's?
Hi spikey!
But I'm loose the UV as well and I've got 30 textures that I hand painted
