Now that week one warmed us up to digital sculpting in general, week 2 begins our actual human characters. Generally “characters” refer to humans and “creatures” refer to non-humans. Thus character artists should be well-versed in the human form. This week is all about sculpting a human body with emphasis on anatomy, proportions, and posture. GOAL: Understand how to shape an anatomically correct human body. The detail level should be between 50-75% including defined musculature while excluding surface details like wrinkles and pores. SUPPLEMENTAL TRAINING: I recommend these courses as optional training to reference this week.
