Fracture is a new physics modifier for Blender that's been in development for some time. It hopes to become an official feature some time in the 2.8 series, but for now it remains experimental. Even in its early stages it has been used for VFX work in film and television. In this livestream we'll cover some of the many features of the modifier and why it's so much more useful than the Cell Fracture addon.

The stream is perfect, I am watching it at the highest resolution without problems.

Physic sim seems quite poor tbh with fragments getting stuck and vibrating because they can't convert their energy to momentum.

OOmar yes. You could use two points and the fracture modifier would cut it between those points.
That said for a single clean cut you are probably better of using boolean which will give you more control over the curve of the single cut.
I have the video on the lowest quality, and I'm still having lag. I'm going to go, because this just isn't working for me.
