    nekronavt Nice car 😊

silentheart00 thanks for your feedback. Maybe I'll tweak it a bit after I finish lighting match.

thecabbagedetective thank you. As for too reflective ground - I tried to imitate puddles to make some diversity. Probably it's doesn't read very well?
ssmurfmier1985 thank you and thanks to author for this awesome car model :)

nekronavt Looking fiiiiine, Pavel! Love the volumetric touch for the headlights. And your progression kept getting better and better. The final version is very nice. The only thing I kinda wish I'd seen was a wet asphalt kinda situation. Or just something with the floor..Even still you crushed it. A+ for part 1.

    Goal artwork by Niyazi Selimoglu

Not very satisfied to be honest, but have not much time. Rendered in Cycles this time.

  • smurfmier1985 replied

nekronavt Very close! I think the goal picture has a more yellowish / orangey light on top, your rimlight looks nice. Great job! 😬

  • silentheart00 replied

nekronavt Very nice!  I also think there's some more yellow-orange on the top and more blue in the bottom light, too.  Subtle changes.

  • Grady Pruitt(gradyp) replied

I was trying to decide if it was missing a orangish color (or maybe slightly weaker) front light or if it was  difference in the shape of the forehead. On the rim, I think it's either a little stronger and/or lower so that it's catching more of the shoulder.

Overall though, my first impression was that it was a pretty close match. Nice result!

nekronavt Pavel I think you can be absolutely satisfied with the lighting match, technically almost the same really, while the atmosphere perfectly found with a similiar character

Thank you all, folks, for feedback and notices. I won't apply this since it's already deadline and I have some other important things to do, but I'll keep it for future works for sure. Thanks again. 🙂👍

  • Kent Trammell replied

nekronavt You crushed the light match, sir. Not much more to say other than give you dat A 👍

Week #3 Homework Submission (Part 1)

This character is incomplete yet but I think it's enough for some solid material lighting. Sorta playing air guitar 🙂

    nekronavt Nice Pavel!

    gradyp thank you :)

nekronavt That's a great light match! Very good 😄 you already know I love your metal pumpkin 🤘🏻🎃🎸 it's awesome!!

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

    ssmurfmier1985 yeah, thank you 🤟😀

  • Kent Trammell replied

nekronavt I love the orange and purple color scheme of your character render. Very appealing combination. My only wish is for a stronger rim light for some extra POP. Is this for the pumpkin competition btw?

Your light match is spot on. I can't tell they weren't rendered in the same scene. Wow. And if this is Eevee, which I think is a safe bet, you are rocking the SSS feature like a pro! My only note is that the source feels more like a material study more than a model showcase. Which certainly has its place. Maybe more an observation than a critique. Overall you've earned an A this week 👍

  • silentheart00 replied

nekronavt Solid pumpkin character, solid lighting match.  Good work.

  • Grady Pruitt(gradyp) replied

nekronavt Wow! interesting choice and excellent execution on the color match!

  • Jere Haapaharju(swikni) replied

nekronavt Pumpkins everywhere! Even if the model is incomplete it looks already fine. I like the way it comes out from the dark background.

What comes to the lighting match I have to say that the goal picture is very interesting. The result is also very nice.

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

    @theluthier

Is this for the pumpkin competition btw?

Yes, but the lighting/shading setup will be completely different for competition. And the model itself is incomplete.

And if this is Eevee, which I think is a safe bet

Nah, this time it's all Cycles. But I'll try to recreate this with Eevee today ;) It's impossible without baking thickness and cavity maps to get this SSS in Eevee. Maybe I'll try it with Substance Painter after the course.

My only note is that the source feels more like a material study more than a model showcase

    Agree.
