    @theluthier Thank you! Very helpfull. A made a little update on the car. Strange I couldn't get this setup working earlier, because I did something kind of like this before, but I didn't have a clue of what I was doing. It's starting to come to me a tiny little bit now. The following render is nowhere near finished but I gotta stop now, 'cause I got to start working on the new assignment. Here's a current render, and the node setup:

    Let me know what you think of it.

    BTW: Did you know the audio of the 'Week 6 live stream' of  the 'Modeling a realistic character'- course is severely out of sync? Something like more then 15 seconds, or so. Don't know exactly.  It's a bit hard to follow like this.

    @theluthier and others reading this:

    I'm afraid I can not participate in the homework the coming weeks. I'm a bit to busy with other stuff at the moment, and I cannot give the homework the full attention it deserves. I will attent the classes if possible, but I want to do the homework at my own pace.

    Is it still possible to ask questions here, beyond the live class period? Without grading of course.

    ccarrotnl Sorry to hear your situation!  And yeah, you can keep going after class has ended.  I know I tend to use these classes as a quick motivator to push my skills forward, but I still keep working outside of these classes.  There are things from previous classes I've used in here, so keep going at your own pace.  You got this.

    ccarrotnl Bummer, sorry to hear you'll be missing out. Thanks for the heads up though. I understand how time can evaporate.

    As for asking questions and posting homework after the class's month-long time period, that's totally fine because the thread will still exist and open to more posts. It will be unpinned though so you may have to go digging. However as the instructor I can only guarantee attention here for the month specifically. It's possible that I'll peak in here occasionally afterward, but no guarantee. I have a ton of threads, tutorial questions, support tickets, and emails to keep up with. I designed the class to be a way to isolate my attention here for a finite time period.

    That said I think it'd be a cool testament to the class if students continued learning and posting in the threads after the session was over. So more power to you!

    @theluthier Kent, it's nice if you have time to review this thread, but I won't hold it against you if you don't. 😊 I just hope anybody will see it, as the class is over.

    It's been a while, and I did have a bit more time this week. I worked on a scene I started before I got into CGCookie. We have a room shortage in our home, and I really need some place to work at my art. So we had some plans to build out an extension on the  ground floor. Turned out we couldn't ge the money for the home improvement, but I still kept the plans we had in a blend file.

    After working on it off and on for a week, the scene is still a bit empty, and I know most materials still need a lot of tweaking, but I wanted to post it anyway as a work-in-progress. I hope to get some critiques with the class being over. I'm working on the kitchen on the right now. It still needs handles on the cabinets, and a sink. Then I will fill the scene with more props, and some better lamp armatures.

    Let me now what you guys think of it. 😅

    ccarrotnl Nice start Wilco! Very realistic with the lighting and materials. It's not very Arch Vizzy though, more like a normal everyday room.. which makes sense 'cause it's a building plan for your own room. Wish I had such a room 😜 Good work nevertheless, keep it up!! 😀👍🏻

  • Wilco Wilbrink(carrotnl) replied

    ssmurfmier1985 Yeah, I wish I had such a room too 😉, but what I have now is workable too. You're right, it's not a real Arch Viz image, but I already started it before I saw this weeks live stream.

    Thanks for the nice remarks 😊. I'm very glad somebody saw it. I was afraid it would be lost in the forum, since the class is over.
