@adrian2301 I very much like your smoke animation ππ! I'll definitively take a closer look at it after the official end of this collab! Great work π!
@adrian2301 Now, that is a money shot! Β That looks great. Β But, shouldn't the sun be on a pedestal?Β βοΈπ
@adrian2301 You're an absolute rock: Dependable, reliable, resourceful, timely πͺ The sun and chimney smoke is in the assmebly! I tweaked the sun a little, mostly cranking up the intensity to 20 so it blooms big time:
I tried to get more of an orange-yellow-white gradient but I kept getting a weird yellow inner ring the harder I tried. So even though it's still there, just not perceptible, I think the brightness is the most important characteristic.
I used your v6 chimney smoke because I liked the aesthetic the best. Really nice job experimenting! Looks great in the scene:
I slightly tweaked the particle size to spread out the smoke a bit. Also decimated the geometry for optimization.
Unsurprisingly you've been an incredible asset to your team and to the Collab. Thank you for joining, thank you for contributing, and thank you for being a rockstar π€
Thank you @theluthier . Another great COLLAB in the bag.
The tweaks you made look great, I had the same issue with the sun, I left the emission at 2 because any higher and I seemed to lose the color, and the color gradient didn't seem to work to well. I noticed you used a more grey sun image, If I had a little more time I was thinking of changing it, trying a white to grey gradient from centre outwards.
The final results look so good.
I opened the file today and when I play the animation I only get around 6 frames per second. I don't know if you have thought about it but will you consider baking the animations? It looks fine even at 6 frames per second for me and moving around the scene isn't a problem.
I am looking forward to the next COLLAB.
After our team meeting when it was suggested 2 COLABS or a pre COLLAB, and with Omar taking this COLLAB further with the interior and you mentioned a micro mini movie, do you think the COLLAB could become a chance to produce a micro mini movie, would the people upstairs go for that? If you kicked it off the first few weeks and then a team of us, such as the Barons, continued it through out the year for any members to contribute when they can and end with a complete mini. I was thinking of like a series of short animations, like Road Runner, with main character being Melvin.
I know we talked about it before , and it would be to much for you alone to manage, but like I said in the meeting I would do this full time if you needed me to, I really enjoy the COLLABS, I feel like I have succeeded by helping others even if my asset doesn't make the final cut.
