Tested out Blender 2.8 Beta Today. Gotta say I love it! The texture painting is unstable right now, but other than that great performance. Great job Devs!! (Character inspired by 2D art made by Ahmet Iltas).
I had a bunch of people ask about the rig on the character I posted, so here's a quick look. It's super simple, the green bones (deform bones) stretch to the grey bones (control bones). All control bones are children of the top head bone.
Fantastic test of 2.8. I love the squash and stretch, follow through, and secondary action.... this fellow is a very "principled" character.
