Finishing the sled project
After modeling our snow sled last week, this week we're adding textures, materials, and getting a final render. Topics and techniques include procedural texture creation - because hand-painting textures is for the birds 😉 - materials like wood and painted metal, using the new Ambient Occlusion node for adding grime, and adding some treatment with the compositor.

Speaking of 2.8, apparently the devs are working on an animation denoise feature for Cycles....it lets you denoise the individual frames an an image sequence AFTER they've been rendered.
At least on the internet, not in real life

I'm sorry, guys. I wanted to try the new features, and I always seem to find bugs no matter what it is. Software, toys.... Curiously not 2.8 much, though.
