Modifiers are like a set of virtual tools that can be applied to your 3D objects to perform a wide range of operations, from simple transformations to complex procedural effects. They provide a means to streamline your creative process, enhance your modeling capabilities, and achieve intricate results with ease. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced 3D artist, understanding how Blender's modifiers work is essential for creating stunning and adaptable 3D content. In this exploration, we will delve deeper into the world of Blender's modifiers, uncovering their functionality, applications, and the creative possibilities they offer.
The course is like a visual glossary for modifiers, and watching it through helped me understand how Blender behaves in more than just the modifiers category.
It's invaluable to know what a tool/setting does, instead of just blindly using sliders. This is 100% a course to come back and refer to on an "as needed basis".
It has examples of all of it in action, in some basic shape or form (spheres, cubes, monkey heads) and while some of them are not quite easy to imagine in a real-life practical application, eventually you see them being used in a random project and the light bulb goes off.
I wish we had this kind of in-depth explanation for other parts of Blender; thanks for doing this Paul! Maybe one day we can convince you to tackle the "Edit" modifiers list too.
Side note: if you are like me and watch mostly everything in 2x speed, don't it with this one! Short videos but very information dense. You'll thank me later.
