Do you want to build 3D characters but don't know where to start? Are you're overwhelmed by the thought of creating them from scratch? The default cube can be kind of intimidating...
This course is designed to give you a head start on the character creation workflow: Start with a BASEMESH! Reliable pre-made character models are not only an effective way to speed up the process and establish good topology early. The truth is, all your favorite pros useΒ basemeshes too.
Sure they can also build characters from scratch - and we teach that elsewhere - but the efficiency of a basemesh makes it a standard tool for 3D character creation.
This course teaches a very useful technique. I learned about the existence of this new base mesh resource through this course. There are great number of ideas for how to make use of this. Having a really perfectly designed start mesh gives real modelling power.
On the down side, I wished this course progressed more rapidly. I don't want to watch a teacher spending 5 minutes tweaking one hair. Better, tell me how to do it and let me practice. E.g. shirt and the pants are following the same procedure. Why make it two chapters? My time would be better spent by seeing the shirt and practicing on trousers.
Overall, very good content, but should be compressed into at least half the number of videos. I skipped most of the video content and still learned a lot.
I enjoyed the course. It gave me a pipeline on how to go about creating a character. I didn't use the basemesh provided. I used mine and it was awesome. ThanksΒ
Showed great usage in keeping the mesh clean while giving it some fine detail.
This course was like an 'ah ha' moment. All the elements that had baffled me before now seem so doable. Taken away some fantastic transferable skills that will defiantly come in handy on my blender journey. Look forward to more course in the future
It was a great course, clear, detailed and very well explained, I loved it, keep it up. I'd like to do rigging. Please continue
