I would look into the Tissue add-on. Comes with Blender just have to turn it on.
Sorry, I don't do much hand holding these days....we're in the middle of a pandemic after all. ;)
Here hold on tight, I'll take you thru a few steps.
When you open Blender go to Edit>Preferences
When the "Blender Preferences" window opens there are a set of tabs along the left. left click on Add-ons.
There is a search function in the upper right, type "tissue" in there.
There should be only one result.
Now left click the documentation tab.
Read the resulting page.....all of it, don't skip anything.

From here on you have the ability to make the examples above. Experiment a bit, cause its probably not going to work your first few times. Even then it probably won't be perfect the next 10 times you do it. But I know you got it in you.
