BC1-1808 Homework, Mark Kocher

Collaborations

This is my first class.   So hope I'm getting it done right.  I've been using blender on and off for the past 6 months when I have time.

Glad to have you aboard, and nice homework! Hope you learn a lot from this class, so don't hesitate to ask for help if you get stuck.

Mark... I'm guessing a movie theatre here. lol. Love the little cones placed in front to help keep people out - as it's closed. Nice job

  • silentheart00 replied

Nice!  Welcome aboard!  Looking forward to what you can do later down the line.

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

Good work! keep at it. :)

  • smurfmier1985 replied

    Looks great! :)

  • Kent Trammell replied

kkocher But...but why is it closed? Heh great submission! Plenty of details going on and some clever use of primitives. Looks like a legit blockout for a more complex scene to come. Nice work, Mark. An easy A in my book 👍

For some reason I find closed, vacant business super depressing to behold. Whether it's a grocery store, a bank, a gas station...As if I can see the big aspirations and effort required to manifest said business dashed in front of my eyes. So for me, I can't help wondering why this theater didn't make it 😅

I did a few updates to the mesh smoothing out some corners and getting the mirror balls set the same depth on the skirt.  Here is the latest render with textures.

  • silentheart00 replied

    kkocher Ooo, very nice!

  • Mark Kocher(kocher) replied

Kent, I didn't receive a grade for week 2.   also how do you tag someone in a post?

  • smurfmier1985 replied

kkocher Hi Mark, you use @   and add his username attached to it, like this:

    @theluthier

So no spaces in between the @  and the username and it should work 🙂.

You can also use 'reply' on one of the messages he wrote, then it adds it automatically.

    ssmurfmier1985     Thank you

kkocher Looking very cool, Mark! Reminds me of a sci-fi robot from a 60's B-movie. Good stuff: It's an A+ from me 👍

PS: The rendered version is looking niiiiiice. Great choice of HDRI. Love the material quality.
