@theluthier Thanks for the compliments and the advices Kent :)
I'll try to do better next week :)

galledark Damn the difference is night and day (or day and night, rather?), great stuff!

  • galledark (galledark) replied

thecabbagedetective Thanks a lot Aaron ^^
I try to do my best in every project i make and its strange to realize that i can model more faster than before...
In january i took a entire week to make this sword.
Today: it took me 6 days to make this sword PLUS all this background.
And... i'm sure i can do even better... xD
I just need some time to practice and improve again ^^'

galledark Great to hear! I often think of myself as a slowpoke but what originally took me an entire day 7 months ago I can now knock out in an hour, you never truly realise how far you've come until you look back.

  • galledark (galledark) replied

    thecabbagedetective Point taken ! :)

galledark For me that scene has something from Halloween :D, or if not then it could be worth to do it once :-) Nice work

  • galledark (galledark) replied

csehz Haha thanks a lot ;)
I wasn't thought about halloween when i was making that scene but thanks for the compliment ;)

  • Matthew Ullrey(ullreym) replied

It is neat to see how you are incorporating elements from other tutorials and making your own unique scene. Thanks for sharing.

  • galledark (galledark) replied

ullreym Thanks for yor feedback =)
I think this is the most important lesson i've learned during this week: Learn something NEW at every work.
The more i know how to create what i want, the less time i spend to learn how to do it !

I think it's the key to become better to almost anything...

    Week 3 Homework submission

Hello i already posted my melvin on sketchfab months ago... Here is the link: https://skfb.ly/6vSGn

For this week i tried to do the melvin again with the primitives and.... an elephant !
Yes it wasn't asked but... at the begining i wanted to create a scene with melvin and an elephant i thought i can add the human and the primitives after...
However...i badly manadged my time for this submission so... Here is the result (far from what i've done for the others weeks)
I think i'll do better next week.

I've noticed a little problem with shadows in 2.8... they are a little bit tricky here... I dont know why but the shadow of the elephant and the cone are... Under the "ground"... I dont know why :/

  • Jake Korosi(jakeblended) replied

galledark  I've noticed some quirks too with shadows and ambient occlusion in Eevee.  There are some things that seem not quite right about them.

Nice work in any case. :)

galledark That is totally cool! putting them together is genius 😬 Great job again 👍🏻👍🏻

  • galledark (galledark) replied

    jakeblended Thanks =)

They will probably fix it soon or later ^^

  • galledark (galledark) replied

    silentheart00 Haha thank you ^^

ssmurfmier1985 Haha thanks a lot ^^. I don't consider myself as a genius ^^' but thanks for the compliment miranda ;)

  • Kent Trammell replied

galledark I love that you put all your sculpts from the week into a singular render. Lol angry Melvin riding an elephant takes the cake! Kudos for the Eevee render too.

Minor notes: The cone is a bit too bullet-like and your Melvin sculpt's pose is a little flat, where all the limbs are fixed on the same front-facing plane. Overall though it's an A+ for the week 👏

  • galledark (galledark) replied

    @theluthier Woah ! I didn't expect that !

Thanks kent for the grade and the critique :)

    Week 4 Homework submission :

Hi i decided to challenge myself against my worst enemy: Time !
i had only 6 hours to create a charmeleon, retopologize it texture them and put them into a scene...
Into 6 hours i was only able to sculpt it and retopologize it.
I made the texture and the scene the next day.
    Here is the result:
Yeah the landscape and the texture are very basic. i decided to not put too much time on it because for me the challenge was to realise it into 6 hours and not let myself another day to make it complete.

  • Jere Haapaharju(swikni) replied

galledark In my opinion sculpting and retopoing anything in six hours is an achievement. What did you use as a texture? It looks funny in a good way
