Such simplicity and yet tells a loving story. No two left feet for these two, eh? Very nice job

    Week 2 Homework:

This little sea turtle only cares about one thing..getting to its clam bed to take a snooze...all the while unaware of the monsterous threats that had crossed its path.

ggolden-kitty Well damn, someone's working fast! Really loving the art style going on here, great stuff!

  • Curious (golden-kitty) replied

yyukinoh1989 The taper is one of selections you can choose of the simple deform modifier.  However, I just looked back at my file and I used twist not taper..sry bout that.   You must first add the simple deform modifier then choose twist.  Here is a screen shot of the scene without mateirals applied and the modifier panel open. Hope this helps.

@curious Can i ask you how did you create this style for your turtle scene?

Did you used the grease pencil ? It looks like a concept art :)

  • Curious (golden-kitty) replied

galledark No this is all 3d mesh..haven't had a chance to try out the grease pencil much yet.  But I know it is gonna be fab!! I took a few screen shots to show my settings for the metcap I used for shading in viewport this one is toon..I still need to clean the sceen up a bit..add some more decor and move the plants around a bit..

yyukinoh1989 :D The grease pencil is a 2d application in blender you can use to draw and animate with like 2d mesh..

    See it here https://cloud.blender.org/p/hero

I really like this one ...he demonstrates how to use it pretty good..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXUUJMZl0R0&t=0s&list=LLDptxEubnPhyLD1McZmXgMg&index=5

Woah i should use this matcap ^^
    Thanks  for the answer ^^.
We can render it with a openGL render !.... WOAH tons of options are here now... <3

yyukinoh1989 The grease pencil is a tool into blender.
You can use it when you press D+click, you'll draw on your screen with.
I've only used it to make some annotations into the 2.79, but with the 2.8 version it has been improved !

    ggolden-kitty
Wait...How did you make the back of the scene green, and the rest of it "matcaped" ?
When i add a matcap, my whole scene use the matcap :O

ggolden-kitty Done with week 2 already! Wow, wonderful underwater scene. I love the visual quality you achieved with viewport shading tools. And you did the wheel modifier exercise. Awesome job, Curious! A+

@theluthier Thanks:) Haven't done much meshing in about 5 months still recovering from crazy rotator cuff tear...This course was my dive back into the world of blendering XD  It has been a bit diffcult but I am sure the results will be well worth it..besides I was going through meshing withdrawl lolz!!
