Tx to everyone and their kind compliments throughout this post :) U guys are awesome!!!:):):):D
ggolden-kitty It's full of life, colorful, modeled very well. Love the seashell 😉 Awesome final render! 😄 You should update the one up top too 😊
ssmurfmier1985 Hehe tx, yeah that was easiest vid I ever watched XD! Gotta luv dem mad spiral skillz:D
Wow this scene filled up beautifully! So much ocean life - great job ggolden-kitty. Way to keep pushing it forward 👏
Nice! Feels a bit busy, though, and if the focus is the turtle, it feels like it's fading a bit into the colors behind it; they're similar in value. My eye is tending to go everywhere else other than the turtle. I wonder if maybe you reversed some things around; make the turtle bright and happy colors and the dangers darker and fade into the background a little bit. There's also a lot of stuff in the fore- and mid-ground, not a lot in the background, even if it was a wall of seaweed maybe that would help the background feel less flat? Or a gradient, maybe? Small bubbles floating up to the surface? Something to think about. Overall, I like the style.
ggolden-kitty Wow, what a great style. Thank you for showing me that the Toon matcap is a thing - might give it a try myself at some point.
ggolden-kitty I've quite enjoyed seeing this scene fill up! You've been doing a lot of modeling and that's ultimately what week 2 was all about. I've already recorded an A++ even though I don't think you've officially submitted 🙂
ggolden-kitty I. Love. This. Style. And the whole scene is very cute imo
~ Updated head sculpt
~ Primitive Sculpts :
~Wip of a head sculpt...maybe work on it somemore at end of week. Link to Melvin Sculpt I did last week https://skfb.ly/6AUJH Lol I would really like to redo him from scratch when I get enough time.
ggolden-kitty Sternocleidomastoid muscle facing wrong direction I think :D Realy good start anyway!
ggolden-kitty Wow! Really nice job. And fast. I'd love to see how far you can refine her if you get time.
Have you sculpted faces much?
@theluthier Tx! I haven't sculpted anything in about three years and then it was zbrush and just lots of stuff and lots of fun XD. So not many faces in particular.
Yeah, solid sculpt. I also agree the neck muscles that connect down to the collar bone are wrong. It forms a triangle with the point at the hollow of the collar bone and wraps behind the ears. Anatomy for the Artist by Sarah Simblet has great anatomy information plus overlays of various structures on bodies. There are probably free sites out there, too, but I don't know off hand.
ggolden-kitty You got a lot of potential here, I'm hoping you take the time to refine the face and go all out 'cause so far you got a good foundation.
thecabbagedetective Tx Cabbage glad you think so:) I am still recovering from a shoulder injury and sculpting really seams to aggravate it out of all the meshing process:( So I think that is it for sculpting for me for awhile.
ggolden-kitty Awesome work this week, Curious. Your Melvin kinda looks like a kiddie version with a bigger head, like muppet-babies or something. I really like that aesthetic! Never seen a Melvin turn out that way 👍
And your head sculpt is quite good. Is this your first headsculpt?
A+ for the week 👏
@theluthier lol tx Kent! That Melvin is alwful ..the first one was much better. But I decided to redo it and sculpted over it and by the time I wanted a redo my shoulder was throwin tantrum. So I had to throw in the towel so to speak. But after some rest I will be right back at it, cross fingers..!! This is first head sculpt I have done in a few years.
