Wouldn't it be an idea to open a pinned thread in which users could suggest things/ topics they would like to learn more about? There propably would be a huge variety of ideas and a course takes some time but it might be helpful for instructors to see if a large amount of users want to learn more about a specific topic. I for example would love to learn more about creating game assets (similar to the weapon course) or how to build an atual scene full of assets. Also a course on how to create an interior visualization and use textures and lighting to make it look as photorealistic as possible (similar to the architectual visualization course) would be awesome.
Just an idea on how the website could be improved.
redo quadcopter for blender 2.8 or 2.81
i bought it
got stuck adding toroidal engines to wings and cockpit
What about Armor Paint courses as a free alternative to Substance Painter?
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I for one would like to see the workflow for shading a topological diverse scene in Blender 2.83+.
I've been trying to adapt from other tutorials to reach my goals for shading/texturing my landscape dynamically, but I do not know where to turn for that information. *getting discouraged*
Yes, something very similar to that.
I am texturing the outside and interior of a cave, and it is proving to be a challenge. An enjoyable challenge, but still has me stuck.
*Am also going for procedural greenery
Kent, I have actually been trying to follow the live stream for the island scene, but I'm unsure of where to go in reference to my own direction.
We don't currently have a complete course specifically addressing your situation but I think I can piece together some relevant training:
- Creating Grass: @jlampel teaching how to create realistic particle-based grass
- Creating Plants: Another one by Lampel in the same vein about plants.
- Procedural Sand Dunes: While sand dunes are a specific landmark, you'll find the process can be manipulated easily enough into mountains or rocky terrain.
- Procedural bodies of water: A chapter in our Shader Forge course about various bodies of water. It's pretty in-depth so here's a simpler version from another course (a pond).
- Shading Gemstones / Ice: Since you mentioned caves you may be interested in a gemstone shader.
-Shading Lava: Another specific landmark that teaches a lot of flexible techniques that can be used to achieve other landscape features.
I hope this helps carry you further down the road with your project!
PS: I'm glad you found the tropical island live stream series. There should be some decent info in there about generating and managing a landscape in broad terms.
@theluthier I understand that you can get a subscription to Substance Painter if you are a student. Does being an active member here and places like Udemy count as being a student? Adobe owns it but they don't offer Substance with any of their apps...as yet. I've heard alot of negative comments about them taking it over. Just curious on to know a professionals opinion.
Nice Blog, Happy can join here.. i have a blog about https://meteor88.hatenablog.com/entry/cara-menang-bermain-judi-online
I love the idea ! A course that would combine info on how to create a landscape, sky, good lightning and place a few props with a good scale in order to create a nice render.
I also love the outdoor environment idea. Something that pulls together clouds, lighting, vegetation etc.
Grease Pencil!!!! With all the wonderful new updates and new things coming I so want to learn.
I´d love to see a course on fur :)
How to work with the particle system and it´s settings, how to groom fur and how to shade it
