“I think I had a good idea for this setup, but I want to make sure I did it correctly. Here’s what I did:
I duplicated the entire collection so Blender duplicated all the screw instances along with the main screw object. Then I made the new mesh data separate and changed the screw mesh in the duplicated collection into a larger cylinder. All the instances followed the new mesh shape, which is what I wanted.
After that, I used those cylinders as boolean cutters on the camera body, and it worked — the holes were cut cleanly. For the top object, I created another collection with top cylinders and used the same workflow.
