Beveling Glitch

posted to: Modeling the Sides

This corner gets messed up by bevelling for some reason, after doing the steps at roughly minute 18 i think. The other side is completely fine tho...

Try and see if you have double vertices. So select all and M to merge by distance. You can also select that vertex and move it around to see if it's just janky placement.

    Hi Max sspeedyzxr ,

    Did you check your Normals?

  • Max (speedyzxr) replied

I checked both normals and vertices but nothing was wrong with that and i still have that problem.

I think this is one of those where it's probably quicker if you upload the file so we can take a close look and report back.

Says I need access. Make it public so anyone can download it.

It looks like you have Clamp overlap off, and the bevel amount is probably too high for the size of the object. Also, did you set the scale of the object? Just an observation from the screenshot.

any ideas how i can delete this and remake it?

    Hi Max sspeedyzxr ,

Just change the permission on your link, then we can look at what's going on exactly. The Screenshot doesn't give us enough information.

    It should be public now

    Hi Max sspeedyzxr ,

Yes, the link now works, thanks!

The biggest problem is this Face on the right:

    Start_00.png

Delete that Face and Fill the 2 holes (with 2 Faces), so it's like on the left side.

Also, there are 2 Vertices that are misplaced, as is best visible from top view:

    Start_01.png

And just to be clear, that's these 2 Vertices:

You were right! The problem was the misplaced vertices, I placed them correctly and now it works! Thanks for the help!
