Using the shader VOLUME ABSORPTION on the VOLUME wouldn´t be the same as using the volume absorption you made on the Mapple Syrup?

It's the same conceptually, but very different in utility. The Volume Absorption and Volume shaders are more physically accurate, but I like the "fake" one because it's more flexible and tweak-able.
