Don't worry Gatis, same thing happened to me. I tried getting into nodes and shading only to say yeah, ok no I can't. After a while, compartmentalizing and focusing for a while only on modeling, then after I felt comfortable I jumped into UV Unwrapping, then after I felt I conquered that I got into texturing, then shading and by the time I jumped back in again, so much of the pressure of so many things in Blender had gone away and with a strong background at that point, nodes was a mountain I could climb this time. So don't give up, with practice, practice and grit it gets a lot easier.
I really appreciate this post Gatis. Omar is right: The key is practice. The more you watch CGC videos about material creation, the more similarities you will see; the more often you'll see the same handful of material parameters utilized in slightly different ways.
Though it may feel over your head in the beginning, it will be demystified with time!
