As always this CGCookie forum is the place for all Free Crayson Team major updates.
For all who have Carpentry and Masonic cravings & are willing to answer the call of the 'Free Crayson' we invite you to join us, beefkeef and blanchsb, on a journey of Wood, Brick, Stone, Mortar, and Cookies. The Spice Vender's Exterior Assets (Front Side) Production is officially underway.
Sign-ups are open and you now have a chance to pick your spice. Head on over to the Google Sheet and add a comment on the sheet.
There is enough space for about 3 people to tackle the same asset, but we have plenty of options as well. It's a first come first serve scenario. As the saying goes: "The early Mason gets the corner-stone"
There will of course be time after the stream to sign up and offer your services as well.
Unless you are the type who enjoys the thrill of surprise and wish to leave your fate in our hands, there's that option too.
'Free Crayson'
Carpentry and Masonry.... nice wordsmithing. My mind went to CRAY the supercomputers used for 3D graphics.... or the slang term for Crazy as in "Cray-cray." Haha.
Oh there’s a little cray-cray in there as well. The best captains have a little crazy in them.
How closely should I be following the block out? I'm seeing non-symmetrical roof angles.
That is a great question. We will probably need to rely on the house block-out for the answer. And the answer very well could be that the other side is Asymmetrical. We'll have to stay tuned for that answer this week.
Carpentry and Masonry Apprentice reporting for duty. My chisel and hammer are ready. I signed up for masonry accents.
Foundations volunteer reporting for duty :) blanchsb let me know how you'd like to split / compete ;) (although I suspect you'd kick my butt!)
You are confirmed a member of the team! Welcome hadiczech to the free craysons.
Great! You're officially vetted per The Asset List assignment chbug
let me know how you'd like to split / compete ;)
With soo many participants this will be quite common. I look forward to whatever you feel comfortable with. Best idea is to probably work together but separately. Maybe we can hash out ideas and share inspiration for foundational findings and compare works but make each our own.
Hey all,
I've signed up for some roofing. How do you want to manage this?
If llegobenj is happy with tiles I could focus on the wood parts maybe?
I'd be happy with that. I've started on the wood trim, but haven't gotten super far yet. I had envisioned 3 layers: wood planking, upside down tiles, and right side up tiles, with wood trim along the outside. If you want to knock out a more detailed wood blockout and upload that, I'll conform my tiles to fit. I took a look at your WIP thread, and you've got some pretty impressive work!!
Hi ttat great to see you here!
I've also taken quite a fancy to those steps! 😃 I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with !
Greetings, everyone! I'll be making the walls that you'll attach everything to eventually. Glad to be here!
