WIP 40k admiral Work In Progress

Another portrait I'm working on. Many things aren't finished (hairs, clothes, skin texture, composition etc.) but feedback are great, so... feel free to criticize. Cheers !

  • Looks great!! I think the bridge of the nose is just slightly too flat. The scars on the nose and cheek could use a little more "edge." Not sure of a good descriptor, but the pale, stretched parts of the skin that surround the wound. And the lighting needs to be adjusted to ease the harsh shadow on the right (left to us) eye. My two cents, but looks amazing even as is.

  • @cgcookiedough Hi mate ! Thanks for the feedbacks ! For the pores, I figured it out after the render... I've cranked my normal map a little too high and lowered the subsurface scattering so... with a potatoe computer no new render for the evening. For the mouth, wrong lighting and here it is : flat lips ! Shading makes the form ! And the eyes, oooh thes eyes ! Better catch light, camera angles and gaze angle should do the trick.
    Thanks again !

  • I think this looks awesome. The only things I would change are the eyes, the pores, and the lips. The eyes will probably be hard to make them look right, because that's the first thing most people look at if there are any eyes. I personally think the pores are a bit too big, I don't know if it's that big of a deal though. The top lip looks a bit flat, though everyone's face is shaped differently.

Over all, I think that is an awesome character. I don't think I could even get this level of detail in even if I was working on it for years.
