Space Girl: 3D Print Final

6 loves
Here’s the final print of my Space Girl Project.

It took several tries and I’ll share the behind the scenes pics as well.
1. I started with a hopeful render (sans supports).
2. Then submitted the pieces to my Bambu Handy Slicer software.
3. Tail and hair failed during the first print so I re-oriented them.
4. Tail failed again, so I made a custom base support with sprues. Worked amazing.
5. Assembled pieces.
6. Final glamour shots and turnaround recording.

  • Clever way to split it all apart! I haven't printed any character models yet, just boring parts. So this looks very exciting to me!

Thanks. I have done tons of engineering prints but this was my first character print. I learned a lot by doing it for the first time, and big takeaway was some of the internal dialog and ideas to consider the regarding the "printed end" from the beginning on the next projects.

That makes total sense blanchsb . It really does make a difference the way we approach the model when we get to printing it. I learned that when I tried to make the sci-fi crate from one of the courses here an actual crate with hinges and latches. That was painful. Lol.
I have loads to learn on that end... would love the breakdown next time you add a project for printing to the galery :)
