Marking it as "final"... but is a project ever really? :D
This is a self portrait character. It's basically combining things I've learned from BASEMESH, RIG, and SHAPE specifically, as well as bits and pieces I've learned about texturing over the years, from CG Cookie and elsewhere. The logo on the shirt was also made in Blender, using Grease Pencil.
10 years ago, I'd done a self portrait character. It was nowhere near as good as this one is (even as flawed as this one is).
Added a portrait version where i fixed the mouth and eyes a little bit and did a portrait photography setup.
** In the spirit of what I said at the start.... :D Trying a mesh version of the hair. Will probably redo the goatee and eventually the shape keys for the face.
Nice work Grady. Yeah we often forget that yesterday we couldn't do what we can do today and tomorrow will do even better than today. So keep on leveling up 🤘🏻
Nice work, Grady. Putting yourself out there and trying is better than doing nothing at all. In art, as in life, you will find that nothing is ever flawless. Imperfections within people, nature and objects alike are the things that make us unique and beautiful. Well done.
