  • Bennie, looks great! I'll admit, though, my first thought was Billy Zane rather than Brendan Frasier :D

Thank you for your kind and constructive feedback, Grady, it's much appreciated. As a novice artist these types of feedback are most welcome in order to grow. We can't always sugar-coat things or we'll never be able to advance. Likeness sculpting is a rare skill I would like to mature into one day hence the reason I create all these projects. Most of them are my adaptations and not always purely focused on likeness. I'm hoping that by the end of this project that it would look a bit better. I agree, Kent's Human course is amazing. This project however, is not based on that course but solely on my own take. I did however use Kent's course on an old project I created a long time ago, titled, Hocus Pocus to create a close-up of an eyeball. If I'm not mistaken, Claire already took Kent's Human course and produced amazing results, and because of that my reason why she doesn't need my guidance. Thank you again, Grady for the awesome feedback and keep on rocking with those great projects.

  • Some day, if you have time, I'd love to have a little tutorial to learn a bit about your working methods, but I'm dreaming...

Hi Claire, that is kind of you. I’m still in humble beginnings, teaching myself something new as I explore Blender, so there is not really anything you can learn from me that you yourself already do not know, or from the extensive library courses that CG Cookie provides. As a non-member of this site, I’m only allowed to respond once to a comment, so please do not think less of me if I do not reply to a follow-up comment. As I’ve mentioned before, your work is already amazing. Just try to keep on pushing out as many projects as you possibly can without the effects of burnout.

I don't know how closely Bennie's process was to this... but if you want a great course on making a realistic human character, if you're a CG Cookie member, I'd highly recommend Kent Trammell's HUMAN course. It's not necessarily a beginner-friendly course... it's intended more for an intermediate to advanced user, but it goes over sculpting, retopology, texturing, hair (though it uses the old hair system... If you're familiar with the new system, you can probably figure out how to adapt what Kent shows using the new system), lighting and rendering. He even has a part of the course that goes over doing some clothing. I've only ever managed to get through the sculpting part on one myself (more my own getting distracted by other things), but that's one of the best likenesses I've done to date (even without the hair being done on it).
