Post-Apocalyptic Gas Station Final

6 loves

Post-Apocalyptic Gas Station:

I watched "Days Gone" Full Gameplay Video couple of weeks ago on Youtube to study the overall game.

Really impressed with the Overall Game development, the storyline, narrative and all the characters with their appropriate roles with progression.

Scifi, medieval and apocalyptic stories always gives me an inspiration for breathtaking environments. I enjoy all three genres even more with time both for making and playing.

Immersive Environment not only keeps the feelings engaged but helps to revel more about depth of the narrative including appropriate environment with overall Lighting and natural obedience with Level Design for open and closed spaces.

So i made an apocalyptic gas station. Spent sometime on the terrain to get it intermixed with asphalt while nature taking over on most of the structure.

Then Worked on Gas Station Structure overall to avail all the degradation and deterioration effects.

But without lighting everything is pointless.

So as always and ever i am a childhood fan of dawn and dusk lighting. Son of sun won't be a wrong thing to say. It's just fresh, life emerging and optimistic and i can't live without it.

Somewhere near where i live i have somewhat similar vicinity where i got a gas station and all around covered with road and nature. Looks breathtaking in dawn with the haze of grass. So that's exactly i had in mind but with apocalyptic approach.

So here is the art.

* Assets Used: Truck and Transmission Lines is downloaded from free3d.com back in the day couple of years ago. Could have made my own but it's not bad to use free models to save some time.

* Trees i made myself with Geometry Nodes setup. i love geo nodes with their damnation power.

* Grass is also completely created by me with my very first medieval house project back in the day. Still looking gorgeous. -Intermixed with another geo node setup of mine.

Created with Blender 4.2.7 Using Cycles Rendering Engine.

Compositing done in GIMP.

Same for me, still love it here on CG Cookie. Cool post-apocalyptic gas station. I thought it was a Last of Us themed environment, those guys have a monopoly on post-apocalyptic stuff, you see world end scenarios and you think of the Last of Us.

My lighting idea was actually similar to the last of us vibes. The last of us was an environmental masterpiece, part 2 was even more beautiful with environments.
Naughty Dog's work was sincerely amazing on creating the level design and lighting.
