Not sure if you're looking for any other outlets for teaching but I've been using the website Draw A Box (http://drawabox.com/lesson/1) which might be good to look at alongside the book you're reading? Teaches the basics as well. Either way, keep it up!

I used the ruler for the first line on each page and the rest were free hand drawn using the shoulder instead of wrist
