As you can see this "the" sliced orange and I did the linework myself haha. I painted this while watching the Sliced Fruit Livestream, though I didn't want to use that much time to draw a orange so I did this quicker.

to kick it up a notch maybe consider representing the wetness of the juice that would be there when it is cut open...
in artistic terms this would be the specular highlights...
I agree that the squish is more realistic than a perfectly round shape...
Looks great. Sometimes it is ironically more realistic when things are deformed or out of shape, because often, they are like that in real life. I wouldn't have really picked up on it if you didn't mention it. If anything i would just assume its a bit squished from pushing down on it when cutting it in half!
