This is my submission to the Pumpkin Carving Challenge.
I had a blast on this one! I also learned a whole lot of things that I have to work on... particularly I need to improve my sculpting workflow if I want to end up animating these guys (which I kinda do - I feel weird about submitting statics, but here we are).
So I'm leaving this challenge with a list of skills to work on next: multires sculpting, retopology, scene optimization for animation, maybe figuring out how to animate their faces with shape keys too... I have an idea on which courses to take to work on these, but if you have recommendations I'm all ears.
I definitely aim to watch Wayne's latest rigging course so I can bring these guys to life. Maybe next year I'll have video evidence of the murder π
This scene is actually based off the pumpkins my husband and I carved in real life a few years ago (the last photo is in front of our old house). Unfortunately we had a huge snow storm that night and not a lot of kids got to pass by, so I ate an obscene amount of candy π₯΄
Last, but not least, if I can enlist dostovel 's incredible skill on naming characters? I only have a name for the one who was murdered: Pumpkin Pie. π I almost named the piece "Making Pumpkin Pie" instead...Β
Muahahaha, that's awesome. My first thought was "Cannibalistic Pumpkins", don't ask me why. It's dark in my mind, hehe.
I mean, who can resist a little slice of pumpkin pie? π
Thanks Sascha!
Cool, (my translateur don't walk) alors je dit : supergreat!!
Pourquoi pas "les citrouille de la mort", It is not bad too?
Thanks Claire! This made me exercise my incredibly poor french!
That could work! I'd even leave it in french so it sounds fancier like it could go in a museum or something π
Ahahaha! For a moment I thought you had placed the CG jack o'lanterns into a RL scene! Both the CG and RL jacks are AMAZING!
Thanks coyo! I appreciate that :)
Lol... I wish I had the skill to do that... one day maybe π
