This is my motorcycle exercise for Jonathan's texturing fundamentals course. The metallic base paints (green/orange), rubber, seat, chrome, and mud are all procedural. Handlebar grips include some hand-painted work. Adding displacement to the mud would have been a little better but increasing the geometry on the model turned out to be problematic so I worked just with the bump. The concrete floor is completely handled by texture maps.
I wanted this to be a manga-themed bike with a full set of custom decals. I spent a lot of time working out the mud placement and it came out ok, for the most part. The UVs have a lot of mirroring going on and I didn't want to mess with them so after tweaking everything for quite some time, I thought it best to put this project to rest.
Thanks, everybody. You've all been a great help.
Awesome!
This is super fun. Outstanding job - Staff picked!
Love the Angry Cookie logo!
Nicely done.
Er… what was it ridden on/trough???😉😮 I hope it’s not what I think it is…😁 Sorry, couldn’t resist it.🤣 Seriously, whatever it was it rode through seems to have spared the springs, both the front and the rear one: everything around them is caked up, but they’re spotless and shining. That’s a bit unusual.
Could be mud, could be something else, hehe. Good observation on the springs. I’ll have to do something about that. Much appreciated.
