rather than metallic (most paint these days) the flakes are large and the base coat is often black with silver or gold flakes shot over it... then "candy" (transparent) colors are shot over this... each application of candy getting darker w/o adding black...
most of this kind of paint is on show cars...
I have achieved each of the pieces (ghosted flames, chrome illusion and now metal flake) separately...
the struggle is putting this all in a node group and getting the group to "play nice".
