@theluthier That's super helpful, thank you very much! I'm going to try to work through some of the other 2.8 content before going backwards, so hopefully that'll help.
ssantacloz23 Ah ok, heh I started answering that way but confused myself.
Conceptually modeling has barely evolved at all over the past 10 years, much less from 2.6 to 2.8. However most of the buttons have moved and some have been renamed. Still we have members who have learned just as well from older videos/courses.
So it's definitely worth trying. Historically we remove courses that we think have faded into irrelevance. If you find translating old courses to 2.8 is too confusing then you can try downloading the corresponding version of Blender. Then once you learn the workflow you can translate that knowledge to Blender 2.8 on your own.
@theluthier Hey Kent, I was actually inquiring about the differences between 2.6/2.7 and 2.81. Would I mostly be able to follow along, or do you think 90% of my time would be spent trying to translate between the two?
ssantacloz23 Hi Thomas - Honestly there's little-to-no difference in modeling workflow with from 2.80 to 2.81. In my experience I can't tell a difference between them without looking at the splash screen.
@wesburke Thanks Wes! I'm looking at the treasure chest course next, though there are several older Blender (2.6-2.7) courses I'd like to check out as well. Do you know how much difference I should be expecting in modeling workflow in 2.81?
ssantacloz23 Sounds like a good plan. Don't hesitate to ask questions as you go! Happy blending

I wrote a blog post about this that you may find helpful: https://cgcookie.com/articles/learning-3d-through-various-blender-versions
