60 second animation created as a proof-of-concept for a promo video of the LEGO TRON: Legacy 21314 set. The video features the original Light Cycle design by BrickBros UK before the retail version became available. This video accompanied my pitch, which was a finalist in the contest-based project.
wardred Thanks, Wardred! I used shapekeys on 2D meshes that used either a curve modifier to hug the face or a lattice modifier (and the lattice had shrinkwrap modifier on it). :-)
Very nicely done! Entirely Tron.
I know it's probably one of the easier things, but I liked the facial features on the Lego characters.
oboshape Thank you so much, Darren! :-)
fantastic stuff, great camera work and loving the slomo cycle construction sequences ;)
@jlampel Thanks Jonathan! I'm really glad you liked it. How I wish I had light groups in Cycles for this... would have made compositing a lot simpler! (Apparently they're available in a Tangent Animation branch of Blender??) Anyway, thanks for the staff pick; that's super cool. :-)
This is super cool, great work Adam! I love that Lego building effect when the cycle appears 👌
chanceofraine Thanks for your kind words! :-)
This is awesoooome!
