Laboratory Final

2 loves

IRL i'm a lab scientist (mรฉdecin biologiste in France ๐Ÿ™‚) and i work in a lab where we perform all kind of biological tests on samples taken from our patients.

Though i'm not a beginner in Blender, i had never tried to create an isometric room in Blender and i thought it might be fun to do the "Fundamental of digital modelling" tutorial (and i learned new tips !). This is my submission.

In the end, i indeed had fun and spent "a little bit too much time" (๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„) on certain items, such as the Tosoh G8, which his a real analyzer measuring glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C). This analyser, the biological safety cabinet, the environmental chamber (the big closet with a glass door), anaerobic jars, petri dish racks, and tubes were all modeled after references. For other items such as the chairs, centrifuge, shelf, infectious waste bin... i just eyeballed them.ย

That being said, not all references were accurate. Though i found a diagram for the Tosoh on the internet, with the correct height, width and depth, i realized that certain parts of the diagram were incorrect when i modelled the tubes rack (bringing one home... #OCD)... and they didn't fit correctly on the sample loader (grey part at the front of the analyzer).

The middle of the room feels a bit empty, but at some point i have to stop and go do something else ๐Ÿ˜….

Wow this is amazing, so much detail and more importantly, it feels like a lab, for us who have never stepped into one. Awesome job ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ
