Kilshaneen Hill Final

Spent the last few days in Eevee working on this one. I've been struggling a bit with specular control. I've been back and forth on the color scheme, autumn shades or go more cold, blue and spookey. I can't decide so I think I'll call it done.

  • wardred Cheers for the feedback mate. Your spot on about the ground shadows although they are not that strong in the render(I think the compression algorithem on site here darkened it more), I can change the shadow sampling radius to reach under more but that causes a light blowout on the frame around the light with serious fireflies. As for the fog rays , I actually like them, they are a bit strong but I've used them in several other shots from this scene to help frame or direct the eye towards things. I'll have to put me thinkin hat on for the shadows though.

  • @jankonopka this is a really great, moody graveyard! Overall I love the mist and broodiness of it. Beautiful trees!

    Excellent work!

The only thing that seemed a little off to me is all the lanterns create too much of an X pattern with the lighting. I get that that's generated from their shape, but it stuck out a little to me compared to the detail level I'm seeing everywhere else.

I don't know how you'd accomplish it, but maybe if the light cone only pointed down and didn't have such a dramatic edge between light and shadow under the light post?
