No, actually it’s a plant called Psychotria Elata that also goes by the fitting names of the Hot Lips Plant, Flower of Lips or Hooker's Lips. The red flowers have evolved to attract insects pollinators including hummingbirds and butterflies. It can be found in the forested areas of tropical America.
Hot Lips is a piece I started a couple months ago and, finished it now. It was nature itself that provided me the inspiration for this anthropomorphic theme, the flower-lips, singing with its bright colors and luring insects. I just rearranged the leaves, so that they resemble more of a human face but, my approach drawing them was kind of realistic, except I drew them with a limited color palette, the Day 24 of the 30 Day Palette Challenge from here: http://magicalzombie.deviantart.com/art/30-Day-Palette-Challenge-211435339
I allowed myself a lot of color blending in this color palette challenge and, I used the programs MadeWithMischief for the major work and, Krita for some post corrections.
Thank you for the compliment. I always like to put the sample colours on my image when I'm working with a limited colour palette. Note shapes seemed as an idea that could work and, I wanted to 'squeeze' this image into an anthroChallenge contest. But, it's true they're distracting.
Love the color. I understand the music notes but for me they detract. A great work. I love the green and white.
Wow! You're very fortunate. It must have been impressing. Thank you so much for the compliment.
Yes, nature is amazing! Who would have thought a plant with Angelina's Jolie lips. Thank you for the comment.
Your very good, saw this plant a couple a years ago in Panama
