Here's a project I started last year but only recently was able to come back and finish him. It's based on some really nice 2D art I saw from Fred Fields @ fredfieldsart.com.
I did all the sculpting and retopo in Blender and then Substance for the textures later.
I think he came out pretty good, but my wife hates it.... not really sure why??! I'd love to hear any feedback/critique
Amazing stuff! I agree with Wes’ critique, but would also add that the buttons need a little thread holding them in place.
oboshape Thanks for the comment Darren! I had to google that movie but I totally see what you mean
Brilliant work Keith :)
heh, if you remember the Spawn film, got a similar grungy feel.
Fantastic as always..
otowa haha sorry for that Thibault ! :-) he is a bit creepy eh?
ffreiredesign Hey Monica, thanks for the comments I'm really pleased you like it!
I struggled for a while thinking about how best to show the bomb, and I hoped he looked a bit naughty holding something behind his back!
The eyes are really nothing special and I'm happy to share how I did them. I'm going to revive my polybook on the forum so I will put something about the process in there if you are interested.
@wesburke Hi Wes, thanks for the comments it's really helpful!
I think I made that age old mistake of thinking I just knew what a balloon looks like, rather than using some good reference images.
It's always an honour to be staff picked here, thanks for that too!
That looks awesome...
Thanks for the nightmares, now...
Love it! The jacket is truly believable. What I didn't get, in the first image, were the bomb sparks. I needed the last renders to grasp your idea. Anyhow it's a beautiful job. I'd really appreciate if you tell how did you model the eyes or say which tutorial teaches how to make eyes, because I ususally do a simple sphere.
Congrats!!
