Face shading with some bending colors. I'm bad at drawing and especially painting faces so I decited to try to study just that; to look where the light hits when it's pointing straight at the face etc. I'm also trying to get in the habit of posting stuff I do regularly.
When I zoom out, I'm always surpriced how creepy the faces I've painted look. They look just fine when looking at them zoomed in though. I wonder why?
Aha, I was zoomed out enought to see the whole face when I painted this for the vast majority of the time but I guess it'd be good to zoom out really far (to a thumbnail size) every now and then. Surprisingly it can reveal mistakes that could otherwise be left unnoticed.
when zoomed in we get caught up in details...
when zoomed out we see how the details make the big picture...
not always with good results
