Door. A non-euclidean shortfilm. Final

Door is my first big project after starting to learn blender one and a half years ago. Its a shortfilm inspired by fairy tales which plays around with impossible geometry.

Altough it was really challenging at times because i had to learn a lot of different topics simultaneously, i am certain that this project made me a better 3D artist.

Almost all assets are modelled and textured by me, except for the statues in the desert (link is in the youtube desciption), and i also used a few environment textures from ambientcg.com.

    Excellent work!
I love the snow coming through the door an settling on the floor.
Also seeing the door in the forest with the same view through the door in autumn was great.

  • jritter,
Wow, very nicely done! It's whimsical, like Narnia, and a little creepy. The attic went away without actually walking through the door. . . and the door closed. The changes every time you look also reminded me of the Start Trek original series with the stone portal.

The sand dunes with the human sculptures also implied a fallen civilization, which might be a bad place to step out into.

Congratulations on finishing an animation, and not just a number of disconnected stills. That takes dedication.
