A rare photo of the discovery of the naturally-occurring Suzanne emerald. After watching Soady's excellent tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eCuBFAz-3c), I changed the shape of his rock a bit and texture painted it to be a bit different. Basically following his tutorial will get you here (except for Suzanne). The possibilities are endless. Rendered in Cycles (400 samples), one light.

Nice rocks. I think the lens flare could be a little less pronounced. A good exercise.
I forgot to say that I added the reflection/lens flare in Photoshop. Also, two lights, not one. A sphere (emission) above and a spotlight coming from the right.
