I am participating in the Dinusty Empire Challenge and have decided to take on the prop challenge. The concept we were given is a computer terminal prop from Fallout 4. The concept artwork was made by Ilya Nazarov. The challenge runs for a month and for the prop the focus is modeling but I intend to texture it as well.
Thanks ljsstudio! I finally got the low poly basically finished. Just need to atlas the UVs and get to texturing.
Oh and I have a little surprise up my sleeve that should kick it up a notch.
It is really coming together! The latest is looking great.!
High poly is finished. Time for some low poly and baking. I am pretty happy with how it is shaping up.
ljsstudio Thanks! I've done a lot of learning on this one. Initially I was thinking I would use the face weighted normals and mesh based decal workflow but I wasn't thrilled with the results I was getting so I am doing another version using a more traditional hi to low baking workflow. Also I wanted to test out the dynamic material layering in Substance Painter and making that jive with the POM shaders that really make mesh based normal decals really pop is beyond me at this point.
Looking great! Model is coming together nicely. Love the CRT screen. Thanks for the Unity standard shader vs Substance note. Good info! Best of luck on the challenge!
